Does Printing Actually Matter?

This question has come up a lot more lately. When new concealed carriers (or seasoned) express their concerns about printing on the internet they’re often met with this idea that “it doesn’t really matter” “nobody really notices” “only other concealed carriers notice printing.” Sometimes some of those things might be true, but certainly none of them are true all of the time.

The fact of the matter is that sometimes printing causes negative outcomes. Maybe that means losing a job, being asked to leave a building, or even being targeted for an attack.

It’s one of those things that we can go through our entire life thinking, “it doesn’t really matter”….until the VERY moment that it matters. Keep in mind here that bad guys and good guys practice concealment, which means that both (to some degree) know how to pick out a gun under a shirt.

So the next time someone new or seasoned asks you a question about the quality of their concealment try meeting them with helpful information and feedback instead of regurgitating “it doesn’t really matter” “nobody is really looking” “people are too focused on themselves to notice.”
