The Enigma Express is HERE
Many of you know that I wear an Enigma from @phlster almost exclusively these days. I can’t remember the last time I wore a traditional belt. You may also know, and for the sake of this post I should mention, I work for PHLster. With that being said, PHLster launched a new Enigma model this morning called the Express, and I wanted to talk about this new model in today’s post!
I’ve been working with and wearing an Express or a prototype of an Express for a few months now. The best part is that this model COMES FULLY ASSEMBLED. Yes, fully assembled. You don’t have to do anything beyond adjusting the belt and leg leash to your size. This also means that it comes with a holster, specifically the Skeleton holster. This is a low profile, ambidextrous, fixed retention holster. I’m a huge fan of the fixed retention on this holster, it’s just enough without being overkill.
You’ll also notice that it doesn’t have any faceplate adjustment holes, and is therefore not quite as customizable as the Standard Enigma, but what you give up in adjustment (which isn’t much), you gain in convenience, and for me, comfort. The width of the Standard faceplate allows the tongues to irritate my skin if I’m not wearing anything between it and my skin, the Express is narrow enough that that’s no longer an issue for me. From the perspective of a petite frame, this is a HUGE win.
It also comes with a smaller fidlock buckle. I’ve been using a reduced size buckle almost since day one, but I find that combined with the more narrow faceplate, and the lower profile fidlock, I can stick with this stock buckle! It also comes with the updated leg leash, which I’m a huge fan of.
If you’ve been considering trying the Enigma, and you don’t have a weapon mounted light or laser, and the assembly process has been too intimidating to get started, it might be time to take the plunge and give the fully assembled Enigma Express a try.
